Uniting Utah’s Communities…..Preparing the Nation!
Community Preparedness Programs are founded on the realization that citizens serve as a vital partner in the welfare of our communities and in building community resilience. While the government provides critical services for a safe and secure America, it cannot replace the value of a prepared and informed public. In these programs, citizens embrace the personal responsibility to be prepared; by becoming trained in first aid and emergency skills, and volunteering to support local emergency responders, disaster relief, and community safety programs.
Working together, we can meet our most daunting challenges through a structured approach to collaboration and information sharing by bringing together leaders from all community sectors; including local government, emergency management and emergency service providers, hospitals, schools, volunteer and service organizations, businesses, faith-based organizations, and advocacy groups. Through all these stakeholders united with citizens, we can improve the health and safety of our communities now, while preparing to respond to potential emergencies.
